31-1-18 FA PREMIERE LEAGUE

Image
FA PREMIERE LEAGUE SWANSEA 3-1 ARSENAL CLUCAS PUTS GUNNERS IN A BIT OF A PICKLE A horrendous error from goalkeeper Petr Cech allowed Jordan Ayew to score a tap-in which put the hosts ahead just after the hour mark, before Sam Clucas' second goal made the result safe. Mesut Ozil's sensational pass had allowed Nacho Monreal to open the scoring for the Gunners, but Clucas levelled for Swansea within a minute at the Liberty Stadium. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42784104 MY OPINION After the results tonight we will be able to see where Swansea are but after beating both Liverpool and Arsenal Swansea have given themselves a real chance at survival. Arsenal have got a cushion in 6 th position but they do not look like the 6 th best at the moment things must change quickly. WEST HAM 1-1  PALACE NOBLE SAVES HAMMERS The injury-hit hosts trailed to Christian Benteke's header but drew level from the penalty spot through captain M...

30-1-18 FA CUP DRAW AND PREDICTIONS

Image
THE FA CUP LAST 16 DRAW SHEFFIELD WED V NOTS CO OR SWANSEA This could be an interesting tie as you could not be certain who will win it. It does look like an easy run for Premiership Swansea but Championship side Sheffield Wednesday could make things a battle. I say Shef Wed WBA V SOUTHAMPTON One of the ties of the round as both of these sides now can see themselves winning the FA cup without any stress. WBA will look at the Liverpool result and think they can win.# Southampton for me here LEICESTER V SHEFFIELD  UNITED Leicester should see this as a chance to win the cup but United will not make things easy for them. There will be a moment of magic that win this tie but I don’t think United have enough here to win the match. This one to me belongs to Leicester CHELSEA V HULL Chelsea have got the quality to win this type of match quite easily if they get an early goal. However if it takes them too long to score their first goal there could ...

29-1-18 FA CUP LAST 32

FA CUP SATURDAY PETERBOROUGH 1-5 LEICESTER IHEANACHO EARLY GOALS KILL OFF BORO Diabate - signed from French side Gazelec Ajaccio - toe-poked in and Iheanacho guided the ball into the corner to put the visitors in control. Ex-Manchester City forward Iheanacho volleyed home Christian Fuchs' cross for a 3-0 half-time lead. Posh improved after the break, pulling one back through Andrew Hughes, but Malian Diabate and substitute Wilfred Ndidi struck late on for the Foxes . http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42756095 MY OPINION Leicester showed what they have the potential to do in this this match but this was a difference in class. If they had played better opposition in the cup would it have been a better match? Leicester would be a good outside bet for the whole thing. HUDDERSFIELD 1-1 BIRMINGHAM JUTKEWICZ SAVES DAY FOR BIRMINGHAM Steve Mounie headed in Florent Hadergjonaj's cross early in the first half to give Huddersfield the le...

26-1-18 Federrer final

fa cup predictions 26-1-1-18

Image
FOURTH ROUND FRIDAY SHEF WED V READING Both of these teams are a point apart in the Championship table so it is very hard to separate them because of that it is very hard to predict in any case. Rhodes, Wallace and Lee can do damage for Sheffield Wednesday while Meite, East and Frost can do damage for Reading I see it as a score draw MAN UNITED V YOVIL United have got too much quality in this match but to me if they do not score a goal early enough there could be trouble. This is a great way for Sanchez to show what he can do but Martial will be a key factor in this match as for Yeovil Glen Murray, Grey and Barnes. Yeovil are having problems in league 2 and I cannot see a surprise here I say 3-0 United   SATURDAY PETERBOROUGH V LEICESTER Peterborough are just outside of the play offs in League 1 Anderson, Borg and Kanu will be an attacking thereat for the Boro while Leicester 7 th in the Premiership the best of the rest have Marhez, Ozacki and M...

LEAGUE CUP SEMI FINAL SECCOND LEG ARSENAL 2-1 CHELSEA AGG 2-1 KAKA GIVES GUNNERS SHOT AT CITY Pedro dropping deep to roll a pass down the middle of the park. Arsenal’s defence has been split in two, and Hazard races clear. He draws Ospina and slips the ball under him. The ball’s poked out on the left by Rudiger for a corner. The set piece is swung into the mixer. Monreal meets it, 12 yards out with his head. Then pure farce, as the ball clanks off Alonso’s head to the right, then clips Rudiger’s head and flies back off to the left ... and in, past a hugely confused and flat-footed Caballero. That might officially count as a Rudiger own goal, but let’s give it to Monreal, whose header before the double-pinball madness looked on target. Lacazette busies himself down the inside-right channel. He reaches the byline and checks, attempting a pullback into the mixer. The ball ricochets off Rudiger and flies across the face of the six-yard box. Xhaka, at the near post, acts...

24-1-18 euro league qualifiers my opinion

League D will be an interesting league as there is no one here that screams a big side but Armenia and Andorra both would be my favourites especially as they are separated apart but Malta is a threat also. The one team I would have my money on from this group is Georgia as they can always compete with anyone and get results from bigger teams League C Scotland have got the advantage of only having 3 teams and neither of which is a serious threat to them if they play well. Group 2 could go between Finland, Grease or Hungary. Group 3 Norway and Slovenia but Norway I think can get promoted. Serbia are one of the better teams in this group and should be able to get promoted. League B has got one of the most interesting groups possibly of the whole tournament due to seeding and what happened in last year’s World Cup Qualifying and that is the group that Republic of Ireland ire in with Wales and Denmark in group 4 . In group 3 NI will have to play Austria which will not be an easy t...

FOOTBALL LEAGUE CUP SEMI FINALS SECOND  LEG AGG 3-5 BRISTOL CITY 2-3 MAN CITY BRILLIANT DE BRUNE Man City dominated the first half and Sane deservedly put the visitors in front shortly before the break, with his deflected shot bouncing in after Bernardo Silva had dispossessed Hordur Magnusson. Manchester City looked to have all but killed the tie early in the second half when Aguero's strike across goal rounded off a lethal counter attack. The Championship team produced a rousing final 20 minutes to give Guardiola's side a brief late scare, with Marlon Pack's smart header and Aden Flint's stoppage-time goal threatening for a moment to take the tie into extra time. But De Bruyne's calm finish with the final kick of the game denied Bristol City a creditable draw on the night and confirmed Manchester City's place in the final http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42698924 MY OPINION This is where Man City were able to show that they a...

23-1-18 PREMIERE LEAGUE

Image
FA PREMIERE LEAGUE SWANSEA 1-0 LIVERPOOL SUPER SIGERSON Alfie Mawson's goal proved the difference as the Swans recorded a potentially priceless win in their fight against relegation. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42685212 MY OPINION For Swansea this keeps a sense of momentum going and says that they can get out of the whole that they are in at the moment. As for Liverpool they have to go back to square one as they have 2 massive matches coming up in the next 2 games. Liverpool need to find another way to break the blanket defence that smaller clubs can play with.

22-1-17 CHAMPIONS CUP

Image
EUROPEAN RUGBY CHAMPIONS CUP SATURDAY POOL 2 SARACENS 62-14 NORTHAMPTON KOSH KLIMBS LADDER Saints led twice in the opening exchanges as Cobus Reinach and Nafi Tuitavake scored either side of Mako Vunipola's try for the hosts. But from 20 minutes, and the introduction of winger Nathan Earle for the injured Chris Wyles, the European champions were rampant. Earle made metres down the middle for Alex Goode's score, before Owen Farrell's side-step put in Marcelo Bosch. Earle, who will join Harlequins at the end of the season, was then involved again as he broke down the left to set up Richard Wigglesworth. Saracens added their fifth score of the half as Vincent Koch drove over for a soft try with Jamie Gibson in the sin-bin. Maitland and Vailanu added second-half tries, while Saints failed to add to their tally. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/42710647 MY OPINION At the time Saracens had no clue in how important this win was...
