30-9-19 SUPER LEAGUE SEMIS
RUGBY LEAGUE SEMI FINAL
CHAMPIONS SEMI FINAL
ST HELANS 40-10 WIGAN
PERFECT PRECIVAVAL
St Helens' teamwork was matchless, their conviction
unshakeable and a vibrant start led to Theo Fages grounding Lachlan Coote's
kick to open the scoring.
First, the outstanding Luke Thompson dived over from close
range and England team-mate Jonny Lomax then did likewise. After the interval,
Coote sent Zeb Taia over from close range and England centre Mark Percival
finished off a delightful handling sequence inside the left channel before
claiming his second with five minutes remaining.
MYIOINION
St Helens showed in this match
for sure why they are considered the best team in the league and whoever plays
then in the final is going to find them a very tricky opponent but this was
simply a dominant display and showed what Wigan have to change even for their
match next week against Salford
SALFORD 22-0 CASTLEFORD
BANANAS BIBBY
What a start for the hosts! Tyrone McCarthy splits Castleford in two and races through a
crowd of bodies to ground Tui Lolohea's kick right behind the sticks. Cas have
switched off there and have been punished and Salford race into an early lead. Krisnan
Inu adds the two.
No sooner has Tyrone McCarthy touched down for Salford's
first but Jake Bibby races
into the corner for another. However, Greg Minikin makes chase and initially
appears to hold him up with an incredible tackle just as he was about to ground
the ball. Referee Ben Thaler signals a try but takes it to video referee Robert
Hicks who, upon a frame-by-frame replay, awards the try having seen he
eventually touches down a split second after the tackle made contact Krisnan
Inu kicks his second successive conversion.
Meanwhile on the pitch, Jackson Hastings attempts an
audacious run in at the other end as Salford look to extend their lead but his
pass to Jake Bibby falls short. This is an absolute monster of a 30-metre
penalty.
In what could be his last game for Salford at the AJ Bell
Stadium, Jackson Hastings wraps
this tie up for the Red Devils as the half-back runs in with ease. This is all
over, now. Krisnan Inu makes no mistake with the extras. Four kicks from four,
now.
MY
OPINION
Salford are definitely going to
find it very difficult going forward kin this year’s Super League and I think that Salford have shown in this
that they are ready for any major task that comes their way. This team can pull
of a shock but have to try to build on the momentum that they have
