SCOTTISH CUP FINAL
HEARTS 1-2 CELTIC
EDOUARD ERRATES
Craig Levein's side fought valiantly, though, and took the
lead when Arnaud Djoum's shot broke to Sean Clare, who back-heeled the ball to
Edwards to shoot first-time beyond Scott Bain.
Hearts could not maintain Souttar's flawless display. Zlamal
hesitated as he left his line to close down Edouard inside the penalty area,
then panicked and slid into the striker. Referee Willie Collum pointed to the
spot and Edouard converted with confidence when Zlamal perhaps could have done
better.
The striker remained unflustered when Berra was caught out
of position and Mikael Lustig's header sent the ball through for Edouard to
chase, and he coolly lifted the ball beyond the Hearts keeper's reach and into
the net.
MY
OPINION
I think that Celtic had been
able to show their quality in a match of very little but if they had not got
the penalty I wonder what it is that would happen and I wonder whether that
changed the game in such a big way

ST MIRRIN 1-1DUNDEE UTD
aet st mirin won 2-0 on pens
HAPPY HADKY
United were struggling to make the ball stick in the final
third, with an approach that was more blood and sweat than pass and move.
However, with Safranko preferred to Sow at centre-forward, the St Mirren back
three were posed more problems than on Thursday, and it was from the Slovak
that the opener stemmed. His adept turn and shot was pushed away by Hladky but
Booth's attempt on the rebound struck Jack Baird's arm. Penalty awarded. Clark,
composed as you like, rolled the spot-kick into the net.
St Mirren were level as a befuddled Mark Connolly slashed at
a clearance, sending the ball spinning into the path of Mullen. With a calmness
equal to that shown by Clark, the striker strode forward and rolled under
Siegrist to spark Paisley pandemonium.
MY
OPINION
This game for one team not to
score a pen in a shootout I find to be a little bit odd but that is the way
that the game went and I do think that the saints survived by the skin of their
teeth and if Dundee utd had scored a pen it would be very different
LEAGUE 2 PLAY OFF
FINAL
NEWPORT 0-1 TRAMMERE
JUMP JENNINGS
Mark O’Brien, the Newport captain, is sent off! Seconds
after Amond is adamant Steve McNulty upended him in the box, TranmerE punt
the ball forward towards James Norwood, who is blocked off by O’Brien. The
referee is quick to race over and show O’Brien a second yellow card. Newport
are down to 10.
Jennings heads in! Is that the winner at the death? Buxton,
the substitute jinked inside Bakinson to open up some space and then Tranmere
recycled possession. Caprice flew down the right flank and whipped a wonderful
ball in to the back post, it fizzes beyond James Norwood but not the unmarked
Jennings, who powers a header in beyond Joe Day
MY
OPINION
This game was defined by one decision
and it was the sending off just before full time as extra time did not help
Newport in the slight as they had that ability to play with the extra time which
was absolutely vital
LEAGUE 1 PLAY OFF FINAL
CHARLTON 2-1 SUNDERLAND
BANG BAUER
Charlton centre-back Naby Sarr's powerful backpass was
completely missed by goalkeeper Dillon Phillips, who watched the ball roll into
his net as he chased back in vain.
But Lee Bowyer's side got a foothold in the game and
levelled when Lyle Taylor put in a low cross for Ben Purrington tap in at the
back post, before Bauer's match-winning intervention in the 94th minute.
MY
OPINION
This was a harsh loss on
Sunderland as I think that they deserved a chance in extra time but the
lateness of the goal meant that there was no time whatsoever for them to
respond. This was an even contest and it was just unlucky but Charlton have to
make the most of this chance
