FA PREMIERE LEAGUE
CARDIFF 2-1 BRIGHTON
BEAUTIFUL BAMBA
Brighton take the lead with the simplest of goals. March
curled a free-kick from the left beyond the far post, where Dunk lost his
marker Bamba and planted an accomplished header back across Etheridge.
It was scored by the makeshift forward Paul Warhurst Callum
Paterson and made excellently by Kadeem Harris. He beat two players just
outside the box before dancing down the right side of the area and hitting a
deflected cross that looped over the Brighton defenders at the near post. It
dropped perfectly for Paterson, who headed past Ryan from four yards.
The goal came from a
long throw from Gunnarsson, which led to an almighty scramble.
Bamba’s overhead kick hit the post, Paterson’s follow-up was deflected onto the
bar, and finally Bamba rammed the loose ball into the roof of the net! Brighton
will feel Bamba was offside in the buildup, not once but twice.
MY
OPINION
This was a very lucky win for
Cardiff that could make a huge difference in their struggle for points I their
race to avoid the drop. I think that Cardiff should be able to look at this
match and try to build the momentum need to win
HUDDERSFIELD 1-1 WEST
HAM
ANDERSON APLAUD
Prichard plays a one-two with Hogg and then drills a low
shot with his left foot beyond Fabianski and into the side-netting! West Ham's
goalkeeper perhaps have done better there as the shot wasn't particularly
powerful.
Hernandez's shot is blocked by Lossl but the rebound drops
to Antonio and his effort is blocked, this time by a covering defender!
The ball squirms out to Anderson and he unleashes an
unstoppable left-footed volley into the top corner to equalise for West Ham!
MY
OPIION
West Ham were lucky to get their
point and they need to play their football in the premiere league as the
stadium should have the ability to be able to play the way that they can.
Huddersfield are in some serious trouble and will have to find a way out of it
soon or they will be in this whole for a while to come
LEICESTER 0-0 BURNLEY
A GAME BIGGER THAN
THE RESULT
Leicester had the best of the first half, with Jamie Vardy's
shot cleared off the line by Matt Lowton, Rachid Ghezzal heading against the
bar and Joe Hart saving at the feet of Demarai Gray.
Burnley grew into the game and will be satisfied with a
point, although Chris Wood should have done better than lift a second-half
chance over the top.
MY
OPINION
This was possibly the best 0-0
draw because of what the match meant to both clubs. After the death of the
Chairman Leister had the right to postpone the match but played o and at home
this was an emotional send off to a great man
NEWCASTLE 2-1
BOURNMOUTH
LOVELY LERMA
Begovic saves Rondon's close-range effort, but the ball
bounces straight back to the big centre forward and he calmly puts it into the
net.
The Cherries thought they had found a late equaliser but Dan
Gosling was correctly flagged for offside after bundling in David Brooks'
effort as Newcastle resisted the visitors' late pressure.
Lerma leans forward to guide a header into the goal
from a corner.
MY
OPINION
Momentum can do very well and
can show the form that we know they have the potential for as they can score
the goals needed to win games. But this is more about getting their defence in
order and we saw a lot of that in the second half
SOUTHAMPTON 1-1
WATTFORD
WACKY WARD PRICE
Watford fail to clear away the second corner and Long robs
Pereyra of possession inside the box, with Gabbiadini pouncing on the loose
ball and slotting home
Ward-Prowse's clearance bounces off Deulofeu and into the
path of Holebas. He strikes at goal and his effort takes a wicked deflection,
leaving McCarthy helpless.
MY
OPINION
This result does not help
Southampton in their fight against relegation and I think that this could make
people begin to look at Mark Hughes and ask for his head. I think that Wolves
are being one of the teams of year so far
CRYSTAL PALICE 0-1
TOTNAM HOTSPUR
FLIPED FOYTH
Lamela’s corner from the left was met by Kane, whose
stooping header hit McArthur in the six-yard box. The ball looped up in the
air, and Foyth reacted quickest to head past Hennessey.
MY
OPINION
This was a win that puts Spurs
right in the mix and again has to put them as title contenders. Palace are now I
a serious problem as they have to find a way to get themselves out of the trouble
that they are in
LIVERPOOL 2-0 FULLHAM
MIGHTY MO
Salah's goal came after goalkeeper Alisson initiated a
lightening counter attack, with the Egyptian running unopposed from the halfway
line to open the scoring.
Xherdan Shaqiri's cushioned finish in the second half
confirmed victory for the Reds who equalled their best start to a Premier
League season
MY
OPINION
This shows again the quality
that Liverpool have and what they can do within an instant. I think that
Liverpool have got the potential to go far but again you cannot look to far in
the future as for Fulham they are in a bit of a pickle
CHELSEA 0-0 EVERTON
NO GOALS KEEPS
CHELSEA GOING
A fractious first half saw five players booked before the
break, including a flashpoint between Antonio Rudiger and Bernard which saw
both players booked - though replays suggested the Everton man had aimed a
headbutt at the home defender.
And in what was at times a subdued and disjointed game, the
clearest chances fell to Marcos Alonso, who saw a volley saved by Pickford,
before hitting the post late on.
MY
OPINION
This was another good draw for
Chelsea but the number of draws they are getting might be beginning to harm
them. They are doing a lot better than anyone would have thought but Everton
should be happy as they know they can get this type of point away from home.
ARSENAL 1-1 WOLVES
MATCHING MIKHITARYAN
The Arsenal midfielder dummies in his own half, thinking
that a team-mate is behind him. Instead it's Cavaleiro who collects
the ball and then drives forward into space and plays into the box for Jimenez.
The striker takes a touch and then crosses back into the
middle where Cavaleiro finishes from six yards out.
It's a slightly fortuitous goal as Mkhitaryan swings in
a cross from the left corner of the box which misses everyone and flies in at
the back post, with Rui Patricio unable to react quickly enough.
MY
OPINION
I think the Arsenal fans should
be happy that they got away with this one as they should have lost this match
on the run of the die and I think maybe Wolves should have picked up more than
just the one point that that they did
MAN CITY 3-1 MAN UNITED
AGGRESSIVE AGUERO
City's victory was rarely in doubt after Silva bundled home
an early goal to give them a narrow interval advantage.
They got the second their superiority deserved with Aguero's
rasping, rising finish past David de Gea three minutes into the second half
following an exchange of passes with Riyad Mahrez.
Mourinho's side, without injured Paul Pogba, barely mounted
a serious threat but were given hope of earning an unlikely point just before
the hour when Romelu Lukaku was hauled down by Ederson seconds after he had
come on as substitute. Anthony Martial sent the Brazilian keeper the wrong way
from the spot.
It briefly revived memories of last season's dramatic derby
here when United came from two goals down to win, but City never looked like
losing control and wrapped up the win two minutes from time when substitute
Gundogan took advantage of static United defending to beat De Gea from close
range following a 44-pass move.
MY
OPINION
Man City look to be the team to
beat this season and you do wonder where they are going to drop them. There was
a chance here for United to get a point bu8t they could not do it at the stage
they were winning the match
