CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS
SNOOKER
RONNIE BEAT WILSON
IN DECIDER
Wilson claimed the first frame as both players looked to
settle their nerves.
However, in true Ronnie fashion, O’Sullivan took the match
by the scuff of the neck.
The snooker legend claimed the next five frames in a row,
potting a mammoth 107 break in the fourth to make it 5-1.
However, Wilson was not going down without a fight, claiming
back two frames as the first session drew to a close at 5-3
They both took a frame each in the opening two frames of the
evening session.
And just as Wilson was beginning to grow into the game with
another frame win, O’Sullivan pulled ahead even further, winning two frames on
the bounce to make it 8-5 at the evening session interval.
But the main drama of the match was still to unfurl, as
Wilson drew level, winning the next three frames.
As tensions increased inside the Ricoh, Wilson won his
fourth frame in a row to go 9-8 ahead, before O’Sullivan claimed the next to
take it into a decider
Both players got points on the board early, but a mistake
from Wilson allowed the Rocket to clean up with his fifth century break of the
match.
MY
OPINION
To me this is the exact meaning
of taking victory from the jaws of defeat as everyone would have thought that
the game belonged to Wilson but Ronnie dug deep to get the win and show why he
still has the ability to be a champion.
