FA PREMIERE LEAGUE MATCHES 2-3-20

FA PREMIRE LEAGUE
BRIGHTON 0-1 PALICE
AYEU ALLE
A long goalkick was collected by Benteke, who moseyed infield from the left wing and played a superb reverse pass to put Ayew clear on the left side of the area. He opened his body and slid a low first-time shot that went through Ryan and into the net.
MY OPINION
Brighton have shown in this match that they can do a job when it is needed. I think that Palice just look at this like a bad result and that is all that it means to them. For Palice looking for safety w8ill be crucial like a lot of sides
BOURNMOUTH 2-2 CHELSEA
ALONSO AWWW
Reece James had been just about their most promising attacking outlet and his delivery was met by a trademark run and near-post flick from Giroud.
James back in the team after a rib injury - rose above Kovacic to power in a header that Caballero got his hand to put could not prevent from arrowing into the back of the net.
After stellar play in midfield, King had acres of space at the back post to tap in Stacey's low pass. VAR conducted a detailed check examining a possible offside, but the goal was eventually given after a delay.
It’s three in two league games for the rampaging left back. That had been coming, with Chelsea piling on the pressure. Now the Cherries, so close to a precious win, will simply be looking to hang onto a point.
MY OPINION
This is saying to me that Chelsea are not on top form ready for the next few fixtures and says to me a spot in the top 4 is not a sure thing and I think they should have the quality to do so. Bournemouth draw has been seen as a negative this week with teams at the bottom winning
NEWCASTLE 0-0 BURNLEY
BRUCE KEEPS GEORDIES OUT OF TROUBLE
Matt Ritchie went closest for the hosts in a cagey first half, his goal-bound effort taking a deflection off Jay Rodriguez before grazing the outside of the post.
Rodriguez shot wide from a tight angle at the other end, while Martin Dubravka had to be on his toes to prevent Jeff Hendrick's cross-shot from going in.
MY OPINION

This season is more about Newcastle than it is about Burnley and whether or not they can get out of the relegation hole that they are in. Burnley are definitely better than this preformance but the Geordies might be looking to the cup.

WEST HAM 3-1` SOUTHAMPTON
HALLER MAKES FOR A HAPPY HAMMER
Rice intercepts a clearance and cushions the ball to Fornals, who collects, looks up and finds Bowen, who has timed his run superbly. The No17 takes a touch and clips the left-foot shot past McCarthy and into the net!
A West Ham attack breaks down on the edge of the Saints penalty area and they break away. Ward-Prowse is up in the Hammers box and he crosses, cutting back for Obafemi, who clips the ball just beyond Fabianski and into the roof of the net.
Superb play from the Frenchman, who first holds off Stephens and heads wide for Antonio. The cross is not a good one, but Haller outjumps goalkeeper McCarthy and heads the ball. It's going wide, but the No22 stretches and expertly hooks it past the near post and into the net from an acute angle.
The former Saint comes back to haunt his own team again! Haller flicks on a long ball forward and Fornals reacts quicker than Ward-Prowse, controlling on his chest and then lobbing a perfectly-weighted through ball for Antonio, who calmly finishes first-time past McCarthy.
MY OPINION
This was a match between 2 teams struggling to get out of the relegation zone this season and I think that both these teams should have enough quality to push for Europe but we know that is not how it works and maybe going down will allow the hammers to build
WATTFORD 3-0 LIVERPOOL
SARR SINKS SHIP
It came from a long throw on the left. Deeney allowed it to bounce through to Doucoure, who chested it down on the run and knocked the ball across the six-yard box. Sarr reacted quickest, getting in front of Robertson to poke the ball into the net.
Deeney, on halfway by the right touchline, curled a speculative pass around the defence, and all of a sudden Sarr was away. He had too much pace for van Dijk and Lovren and was calm enough to flip the ball gently over the outrushing Alisson. What a fine goal.
Alexander-Arnold’s short backpass was intercepted by Sarr, who went round Alisson. The angle was too tight so he turned back, looked up and fed Deeney, who sidefooted the ball calmly over the head of van Dijk on the line.
MY OPINION
Liverpool have come back from this break a different team and that is not always a good thing as it has proved so far this season but you get no medal for an unbeaten season only for winning a league or a cup but you have to remember as a Liverpool fan this is only stage one. They still only need 12 points from 10 games 3 per win. For Watford this is a great result as it pulls them out of relegation zone
NORWIVH 1-0 LEICESTER
LEWIS LOVES IT
That’s Norwich’s first goal from open play for nearly 700 minutes and a first Premier League goal for Lewis. The ball came to him after a cross from Aarons from the right eluded everyone in the middle but the finish was briliant, swerving right into the corner to leave Schmeichel helpless.
MY OPINION
This was a result expected by Leicester and they were nowhere near top drawer on Friday as they lost this match one more win for Liverpool now and it is between them and City for the title. As for Norwich it keeps them in survival race
EVERTON 1-1 MAN U
FERNANDEZ FLUKE
Remember when De Gea had a shocker here last season? This is even worse...Harry Maguire passes back to his keeper, loads of time, no danger... and then he boots it straight against Dominic Calvert-Lewin and the ball bounds into the net.
A tale of two keepers this one. Everton's Jordan Pickford doesn't make a howler quite as bad as United counterpart David de Gea - but he should save this, Bruno Fernandes has a speculative shot from the edge of the box and beats Pickford at his near post.
MY OPINION
This was a fair result but since Fergie left united do have a habit of getting keepers known for having howler performances. As I see it United will need a lot of time with their goalkeeping coach to sort out problems like this.
SPURS 2-3 WOLVES
JIMINEZ JUMPS
Breakthrough for Spurs! Steven Bergwijn shows his predatory instincts to pounce on a loose ball in the Wolves box, prodding home after Dele Alli's initial shot is saved by Rui Patricio.
Diogo Jota sets off down the left flank after a neat one-two with Ruben Vinagre then drills into the Spurs box where Japhet Tanganga gets himself into a tangle. Ball hits thigh and knee before Matt Doherty swoops to drill in.
What was I just saying about everyone mucking in with goals? Serge Aurier must be telepathic. The Spurs right-back cracks in his first goal of the season, cutting in from the right side of the Wolves box and bending into the far corner.
After all that home pressure, Wolves go up the other end and clinically punish the hosts. Adama Traore and Raul Jimenez combine to put Matt Doherty in behind on the right and his low cross across the face of goal is tapped in by Diogo Jota.
Diogo Jota is the architect, slipping a perfectly weighted pass to the Mexican striker as the visitors burst forward on the counter. Jimenez twists, turns and coolly sticks the ball past Spurs keeper Paulo Gazzaniga.
MY OPINION
This game just shows that there is so little difference between the top 6 now and the teams that are below them and I think that teams like Wolves have got a real shot at Champions League but they need to win more often. There should be preseason trophy set for them with teams of similar level. They can get better but not bigger
LEAGUE CUP FINAL
VILLA 1-2 MAN CITY
ROSRI GIVES CITY A TROPHY
Sterling runs down the left and the attention of the Villa defence goes with him. He plays infield to Rodri, who chips over the defence into the path of Foden’s excellent and untracked run on the right side of the area, and he heads back to Aguero, who volleys into Mings’ calf as the defender tries to block. The ball bounces down and past Nyland!
Grealish challenges Gundogan on the right. The ball rebounds off him, back into Gundogan and out of play, definitely a goal kick. The officials mess up the decision, and then Villa mess up their marking. Rodri runs from the far post to the near and heads unchallenged into the far corner!
John Stones should deal with a bouncing throw-in, but instead he falls over, leaving El Ghazi free to run down the left and cross. It’s a good one, and Samatta dives to send it past Bravo!
MY OPINION
This is a great trophy for City to win but winning three in a row is not that unique an achievement as Liverpool did it in the 80s and they look ready to make a real move in the league again this could be one of the great rivalries if both him and Klopp decide to stay
