FA PREMIERE LEAGUE
WEST HAM 0-2 MAN CITY
RODRI RUNNNING
ll that pretty passing, and City take the lead with a simple
corner. De Bruyne clipped it to the near post, where the unmarked Rodri leapt
to flick the ball across goal and into the net. West Ham had nobody on the far
post. The ball was going in anyway but Laporte made sure, and I suspect it will
eventually go down as his goal.
De Bruyne played a
good return pass to Bernardo Silva in the area and kept running.
Bernardo twisted back outside Cresswell, at which point De Bruyne called
shotgun and slid the loose ball past Fabianski at the near post.
MY
OPINION
The hammers were able to defend
very well in this match but when City got their breaks we saw the sense of
quality at least in the second goal. I do think that West Ham are going to need
to get a better performance against Liverpool as they will feel enraged after
wit happened with Athletico . City have shown their quality once again. But a
bad corner allowed this to happen.
UEFA CHAMPIONS
LEAGUE FIRST LEG
SPURS 0-1 LEIPZIG
WERNER WAKENS UP
Leipzig stroke it around the back awhile, then suddenly
spring forward, triangulating at speed down the right. The ball’s switched to
the other flank. Werner glides inside and slips a pass down the middle for
Laimer, who takes a touch, enters the box, and is upended by a crude block by
Davies. Foul, booking, penalty. No question. Werner,
as cool as a pickled cucumber, fires a low penalty into the bottom left. Lloris
had guessed correctly, but even at full stretch couldn’t get anywhere near it.
A crucial away goal for the Germans
MY
OPINION
This was a bit of a bad result
for Spurs as it was like they didn’t play the way that they could during a
match and I think that if they are to have any hope they need to score goals
and try to not concede but scoring is more important and maybe a few risks
should be taken
ATLANTA 4-1 VALENCIA
HATEBORTHE HERO
Bapu Gomez approaches the penalty are from the left, Ferran
Torres backing away and pretty much letting him do as he wants, his cross takes
a slight deflection, and Hans Hateboer gets in front of Jose Gaya to prod in
from four yards!
The ball is curled to Ilicic, 20 yards out and bang central,
and he controls it, holds off Soler, touches it forwards and then hits a
right-footed shot across goal and into the top corner! Domenech gets his
fingers to it, but can’t keep it out!
An absolute
cracker from Remo Freuler, who collects the ball beyond the left-hand corner of
the area, cuts inside under little pressure and then curls a delicious shot
from just beyond the 18-yard line that nestles inside the far post!
Ilicic distracts two defenders just beyond the halfway
line and a pass heading his way instead rolls through to Hateboer, who sprints
infield from the right flank and blasts a low shot past Domenech!
Palomino totally fluffs an attempt to bring the ball out of
defence, strolling forward and then passing it beyond De Roon to Cheryshev,
whose low shot from 20 yards zips beyond Gollini!
MY
OPINION
This tie seems to be over and it
has went completely to the Italian side which I was shocked by as Valencia
would have been seen as the favourites for this tie. They do look like a real
threat against anyone but to get to the quarters would be considered a huge
achievement in its own
