13-12-19 Europa league final day
UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE
MAN UNITED 4-0 AZ
ALKMAR
MAGNIFICO MATA
Pereira brilliantly
skills his way past two opponents at the left-hand corner
flag, backheeling to Mata. He gives it back and Pereira slides infield to
Matic, whose first-time ball from just outside the box picks out Mata, who has
been busy cutting into a congested penalty area from the left. The Spaniard
controls and slides across goal, and though Martial hasn’t anticipated it,
meaning the ball rolls across goal without anyone tapping it in, Young pops up
well beyond the far post to thunder it into the roof of the net from an acute
angle!
Fredrik Midtsjo wins the ball on his right wing and embarks
on a ludicrously misguided jog infield, which ends when he’s bang central, 10
yards outside his area, and James Garner tackles him. The ball rolls to
Greenwood, who takes one touch and then hits a low left-footer into the corner!
Greenwood is bundled over by Clasie in the penalty area, as
clear a penalty as you’re ever going to see. The keeper goes the right way, but
Juan Mata’s penalty goes into the right-hand corner anyway!
Mata passes to Greenwood, just to the right of the
penalty area, and he cuts into the box before shooting low and just inside the
near post!

MY
OPINION
United have shown in this competition
and against Liverpool the amount of threat that they pose and they can go
forward under their 6young coach and I think that this is pushing them forward and
that they learn from their mistakes
WOLVES 4-0 BEKITAS
JOTA JOTTER
A nice flick from Cutrone on the halfway line, brilliant
work by Jimenez on the right, and Jota converts at the back stick!
Dendoncker, from 30 yards, produces a shot massively
superior to either of the ones he mustered when facing an empty net, the keeper
fingertips it into the post and it rebounds into the path of Jota, who slams it
in! Jota only came on in the 56th minute, and he’s got two!
He added a second six minutes later, reacting sharply to
turn in when Leander Dendoncker's shot hit the post before the Belgian headed
in a third.
Leander Denoncker finally gets his goal, heading in a
right-wing corner in the 67th minute. Then two minutes later Pedro Rebocho
tries to do a fancy trick on the left flank and is dispossessed, the ball’s
crossed in and Jota converts for his hat-trick, completed

MY
OPINION
The lessons that Wolves are
learning this season are amazing and they can bring this type of invention into
the Premiere League then anything can still happen. Wolves are still a learning
club and are showing signs of moving forward
CRJ CLUJ 2-0 CELTIC
BURCA BRILLIANT
Andrei Burca rose to head the hosts in front three minutes
after the restart before Damjan Djokovic stabbed home a second with 20 minutes
remaining as Cluj qualified for the knockout stages of a European competition
for the first time in their history.
THIS PUTS CELTIC IN TOP SPOT
MY
OPINION
Celtic are taking steps in the
right direction and are showing the ability to move forward this season and
showing also that they have the ability to learn in Europe which is a thing
that you do not realise as a Scottish side
STANDARD LEIGE 2-2 ARSENAL
SAKA SEALS IT
However, Samuel
Bastien put the hosts ahead just after the restart when his shot deflected off
Sokratis and beyond the wrong-footed Emiliano Martinez.
The goal boosted the hosts but visibly knocked the fragile
confidence of the Arsenal players, who became even more nervy when Standard
Liege got a second as Selim Amallah's strike from inside the area flew into the
far corner via a slight deflection off Konstantinos Mavropanos.
It set things up for a tense final 20 minutes as the hosts
pursued an unlikely result but Alexandre Lacazette settled the Gunners' nerves
when he converted a bullet of a header.
MY
OPINION
Arsenal having this poor result
is something to learn from as the new manager will have a focus coming into the
new year and of the big ones that are available the Gunners would look like a dream
chance

GROUP G
PORTO 3-2 FEYNOORD
SUPER SOARES
Luis Díaz right
footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom left corner. Assisted by
Alex Telles.
Own Goal by Tyrell Malacia, Feyenoord. FC Porto 2, Feyenoord
0.
Eric Botteghin header from very close range to the centre of
the goal. Assisted by Orkun Kökcü with a cross following a corner.
Sam Larsson right footed shot from the centre of the box to
the bottom right corner. Assisted by Tyrell Malacia with a cross.
Tiquinho Soares right footed shot from very close range to
the bottom right corner.
MY
OPINION
Porto being on top is a very
good thing as Porto are on top but this is a very tight group and anything
could have happened including them going out of the whole competition. I think
that there was a lot of luck in this game but Porto are now at the right level
RANGERS 1-1 YOUNG BOYS
MOROLOS MAKES MAT
Young Boys give the ball away and it’s
immediately popped through to Morelos. Sörensen screams across to cut it out
but makes a complete hash of it, and suddenly Morelos is entirely free! There’s
not even anyone there to pretend to be fouled by, so he concentrates on the
task in hand and slides a shot past the keeper!
An almighty scramble
ends with Young Boys equalising from Christian Fasnacht
MY
OPINION
Having 2 Scottish sides in the
last 32 of the Europa League must be seen as a success for Scottish football
and for such a young manager to get the second club so far he must be very
proud of what he has done both Gerard and Lennon should be seen for English
clubs or maybe Lennon as Ni manager when O Neil leaves
