19-7-19 EUROPA LEAGUE

EUROPA LEAGUE QUALIFERS
ROUND 1 LEG 2
RANGERS 6-0 ST JOSEPHS agg 10-0
DEADLY DEFOE
The entire St Joseph's defence was caught cold as Greg Docherty slid a cute reverse pass in behind for the former Charlton midfielder to bury low into the net.
The Ibrox support had turned up expecting a goal-fest but Gerrard did not look too perturbed as a series of chances went begging, knowing his men are not yet up to full sharpness.
Stewart looked rusty as failed to finish a close-range header while Morelos carelessly wandered offside on 27 minutes as he collected a Docherty pass, with the flag already up by the time Hastie stuck the Colombian's cross into the net.
Andy Halliday clipped a free-kick just past the far post, while Hastie got his feet all wrong as he skewed another golden chance wide.
But the second did arrive just before the interval. Hastie fired a corner to Goldson at the corner of the six-yard box and the defender's flick fell perfectly for Morelos to head home at the back post.
Morelos scored again from the penalty spot 12 minutes into the second half after Docherty was bundled over in the box by Daniel Guerrero.
And last season's top scorer notched his fourth of the new campaign already on 66 minutes as he guided home from yet another teasing Docherty delivery from the right flank.
MY OPININ
This is what we expect of Rangers and how much damage they can do. They can be destructive against the smaller sides but the next round it will be a much bigger step. They could be a real force in this completion
SHAMROCK ROVERS 2-1 BRANN agg 4-3
FIN FABULUS
Veton Berisha headed goalkeeper Opdal’s booming clearance into Bamba’s path and with both Lopes and Grace caught out, the Ivorian striker scampered free and rounded the out-rushing Alan Mannuss before dispatching to the net from an angle.
Finn’s through ball to Byrne was expertly executed and so too was the midfielder’s quick-fire touch and finish from close range to put the Hoops back in the driving seat.
And more of the same followed in the dying stages as Byrne teed up sub O’Neill who scored from close range to spark a repeat of the madness behind that goal.
MY OPINION
It was a bit of a shock that they got thorough the tie considering the fact that they are not the second best in Ireland and a step up could harm them as they go on to play teams with a lot more experience.
KILMARNOCK 0-2 CARMATH QUAY agg 2-3
FANTASTIC FINDLY
In the 50th minute Morris fired a header into Jamie MacDonald’s right-hand corner to give Nomads the lead, and with it, hope.
They pushed on well - and the unthinkable happened on 80 minutes.
Stuart Findlay saw red as he gave away a penalty, and Wilde calmly slotted home from the spot to put Nomads ahead.
MY OPINION
This says that there is no result in any sport that is assured. Kilmarnock would have saw them as easy prey but they were ready for a fight and won the tie over 2 legs. Anything is possible if you dare to dream
BALLYMENA 0-4 MALMO agg 0-11
STYLISH SAFARI
Then, on 27 minutes, Safari's 30-yard half-volley left Ross Glendinning flat-footed as the Swedes picked up where they left off last week
Molins added to his first-leg goal with a neat finish and Rakip added Malmo's third of the night after another flowing move.
McGinty was unable to provide Ballymena scant consolation when he missed the target on 74 minutes and United's misery was completed when referee Oskari Hamalainen awarded a penalty for Cathair Friel's nudge on Berget.
Gall comfortably slotted home from 12 yards to round off another impressive win for the Swedes.
MY OPINION
This can be a learning experience if they use their time wisely but they have to lea5rn fast as the new season is approaching and they all have their dreams
NORRKOPING 2-1 ST PATS agg 4-1
LOVELY LARSSON
. Jordan Larsson right footed shot from the centre of the box to the top left corner.
Conor Clifford right footed shot from the centre of the box to the top left corner
Karl Holmberg right footed shot from the centre of the box to the centre of the goal.
MY OPINION
This was a disaster for St Pats as they would have been expected to put in a bit of a fight and I did not really see too much of that but no one would have expected the Irish team to go much further anyway. Results like this as the question for a second tier competition
TORSHAVAVAN 2-3 CRUSADORS agg 2-5
HAPPY HEATLEY
Jordan Forsythe scoring an early goal in the Faroe Islands before Paul Heatley's strike.
Hugin Samuelsen pulled one back with a back-post finish before the break and Lukasz Cieslewicz stabbed in to level.
Heatley calmly slotted home the winner and a visit to Molineux awaits.
MY OPINION
This is an amazing result for the cup holders but it does now allow them to dream of the big ties they would always want. This result can do as much for Northern Irish soccer as when they qualified for euro 2016
PROGRES NIEDERKON 1-2 CORK  agg 3-2
BANG IN BA
But you could certainly hear the tiny Rebel Army after only three minutes as Karl Sheppard’s clever header back from a Colm Horgan cross into the box was met with a magnificent left-foot volley by Garry Buckley, Sebastian Flauss left helpless in the Niederkorn goal as the ball arrowed into the top corner of the net.
With his customary tenacity, Conor McCormack won a free just inside the opposition half. Horgan then cleverly played a cross-field ball to O’Connor who was unmarked out on the left and, as defenders tried to close him down, he lofted in a deep cross which Conor McCarthy headed home off the inside of the post.
But, as we know, games can change in an instant and, to the huge relief of the locals, that’s exactly what happened in the 68th minute as substitute Issa Bah, who was barely on the pitch, reacted quickest in the box to a parry by McNulty who appeared to have pushed the ball to safety, the winger somehow finding the roof of the net with a fierce shot from the tightest of angles.
MY OPINION
Another disappointment by Cork as they had control of the match and ready to move forward when they lost control of the match with a badly conceded goal. Cork would have been my bet to go forward but it does loo0k like they are going backwards at this time
HAUGESUD 5-1 CLIFTONVILLE agg 6-1
VEROCIOUS VELDE
Kristoffer Velde fired home from distance to give Haugesund the lead after five minutes.
But the visitors' hopes were briefly restored when Joe Gormley broke down the right wing and found the onrushing McMenamin in the box, who made no mistake from six yards.
However, the striker could only curl his effort wide and his frustration was compounded when the home side pulled further clear after the referee judged Ibrahima Kone's shot to have crossed the line.
Bruno Leite added a fourth seven minutes after the restart before Velde cut inside from the left and curled another unstoppable effort beyond Brush to wrap up a comprehensive win for the Scandinavians.

MY OPINION
Bit of a disaster result but they can pick themselves up and learn from the experience what needs to be learned and use it as a friendly
ROVANIEMI 1-2 ABERDEEN agg 2-4
FERGUSON FLIES
Just 70 seconds were on the clock when the Finns levelled on aggregate. Scott McKenna failed to deal with a long ball under pressure from Aleksandr Kokko and the defender's weak clearance was pounced upon by Kada, whose curling 25-yard strike took a nick off Ash Taylor to fly into the far corner of the net.
Former Kilmarnock player Mahamdou Sissoko clattered Ferguson for a stonewall spot-kick and Cosgrove coolly tucked the ball into goalkeeper Antonio Reguero's left-hand corner.
But McInnes' side were indebted to Lewis for a vital save in the closing stages, rushing out to foil Youness Rahimi, before Ferguson lifted in the decisive goal on the counter.
MY OPINION
This is a good win for Aberdeen and I they look to be on the right track to challenge the top 2 and this might be their season to finish second. I think that a good run in Europe can help them go forward
