UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
BARCELONA 3-0 MAN U Agg 4-0
MAGNIFICANT MESSI
Messi put the hosts ahead with a fine curling effort from 20 yards in the 16th minute and four minutes later De Gea let a weaker shot from the edge of the area squirm under his body for the Argentine's second.
Philippe Coutinho added a third for Barca in the 61st minute, curling a stunning effort into the top corner from distance.
MY OPINION
Barca were another level ahead of anything United could achieve even at their top form. Solsar has to learn as much as he can from this match and apply it to Man City next week as they did so well in the home leg
JUVE 1-2 AJAX agg 2-3
DE LIGHT A DELIGHT
Cristiano Ronaldo, a five-time winner of the tournament, headed the hosts in front from a first-half corner.
But Ajax battled level as Donny van de Beek controlled Hakim Ziyech's shot and slotted past Wojciech Szczesny.
Ziyech went close after the break before De Ligt, up from the back, scored a decisive, powerful header.
MY OPINION
This was a huge shock no doubt as Juve look comfortable in their league and Ajax are pushing for theirs. But there is a difference ion class in the Italian and Dutch leagues but when a Dutch team comes through and you know in a few years Holland wild be a threat and I see that happening here. Juve have to see this result as a massive failure and need to see what went wrong. If you could get some Irish players in that team it would help them now more than ever
FA PREMIERE LEAUE
BRIGHTON 0-2 CARDIFF
MIGHTY MENDEZ LANG
On the counter-attack, Mendez-Laing curled his stunning right-footed strike into the top corner from the edge of the box.
Morrison who put Cardiff two up after he snuck in behind Lewis Dunk and met Victor Camarasa's cross to nod in from close range.
MY OPINION
This win has put Cardiff right back in the mix for safety but I would still wonder whether the next match would put them back in a serious situation again. Brighton now have to look down and not up as they could be in a bit of a pickle for relegation
