Robert Thornton 1-3 Daniel Larsson (R1)

MY OPINION

I was very surprised to see Robert Thornton have such a bad game as he is such a big name in the world of darts but Larsson will have bigger challenges now

Ricky Evans 1-3 Rowby-John Rodriguez (R1)

MY OPINION

Rodreguez showed here that he had that bit of class but to be honest I had not heard of either player

Krzysztof Ratajski 2-3 Seigo Asada (R1)

MY OPINION

A very good match here between two players of which darts are not really that strong in their country

Darren Webster 0-3 Vincent Van der Voort (R2)

MY OPINION

I was surprised how easy this was for Van Der Vort but he has got to know that there will be tougher challenges moving forward

Evening Session (7pm)

Steve Lennon 3-0 James Bailey (R1)

MY OPINION

Steve Lennon is a rising star in the world of darts but he still has got a few things that have to be learned at such an early stage in his career as there was little learned here as it was so easy. Bailey has much to learn

Ron Meulenkamp 3-2 Diogo Portela (R1)

MY OPINION

Meulenkamp won a thriller here and a match like this can only help develop him as a darts player and ca help him in the second round

Dimitri Van den Bergh 3-0 Chuck Puleo (R1)

MY OPINION

Dimitri Van Der Bergh has shown what damage he can do when in complete control but things should not be as easy moving forward.  

Daryl Gurney 3-0 Ross Smith (R2)

MY OPINION

If Gurney can figure out how to kill off these legs with his doubles he has the form to be seen as a serious counter of that there is no doubt and he seems to have a relaxed attitude which should also help
