24-10-18 ECL

EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
GROUP A
BRUGE 1-1 MONACO
WICKED WESLEY

Moussa Sylla right footed shot from the right side of the box to the bottom left corner. Assisted by Aleksandr Golovin.
Wesley header from the centre of the box to the bottom left corner. Assisted by Hans Vanaken with a cross.
MY OPINION
It was very interesting that both teams scored their goals so close together in the first half and that neither side could make the break in the second. I think both teams needed the win in order to stand any chance of reaching the last 16.
BORICIA DORTMOND 4-0 ATHLETICIO
GURERRIRO GETS GOALS

Axel Witsel right footed shot from outside the box to the bottom right corner. Assisted by Achraf Hakimi.
Raphael Guerreiro left footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom right corner. Assisted by Achraf Hakimi.
Jadon Sancho right footed shot from very close range to the centre of the goal. Assisted by Achraf Hakimi.
Raphael Guerreiro left footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom right corner.
MY OPINION
This was a very easy win for the German side and I think that this shows that they are always going to be a good outside bet for the competition itself and I think that this shows that any type of result can happen in the Champions League
GROUP B
PSV 2-2 SPURS
DE JONG DEMOLITION

Son, helped by Dier’s off-the-ball run, comes infield from the left and hits a low 18-yard shot that is held by the falling Zoet.
After a patient move, Eriksen plays a nice pass inside Malen to find Trippier, who gets his head up and cuts the ball back carefully to find Moura 12 yards from goal
Eriksen combines neatly with Son on the left before curling a gorgeous cross with his left foot that leaves Kane with a simple close-range header at the far post.
Eriksen lost the ball near the halfway line to Pereiro, who slid it forward to find Lozano in a scandalous amount of space between the two centre backs. Lloris charged out of his area and sent Lozano flying with a dangerous lunge, which was sufficient for the referee to send him off.
A long free-kick was half cleared to Rosario on the edge of the box. He completely mishit his shot, but as the ball bounced up De Jong reacted smartly to flick it over Vorm from 10 yards.
MY OPINION
Both teams now have to set their sets on Europa League or nothing as this has made it almost impossible for either team to reach the last 16. I think that if the sending off had not happened then Spurs might have come with a win
BARCELONA 2-0 INTER
RUNNING RAFFINHA

Rafinha gets into the area and pokes home an excellent Luis Suarez cross at the far post.
Messi is beaming now as Alba gets forward and slots a low shot into the corner to make it 2-0.
MY OPINION
This should be enough to seal Barcas fate in the last 16 and it also says to me that someone who does not play well can still have the ability to change a game in an instant and that to me is what this game is about.
GROUP C
LIVERPOL 4-0 CRVENA ZVEZDA
SLIPPY SALAH

Suddenly there’s more urgency and that’s followed by an injection of quality from Shaqiri, who slips a brilliant pass through to Robertson on the left. The left-back cuts the ball back from the byline, zipping it to Firmino, who sets himself before seeing his shot take a slight deflection and fly over Borjan.
Gini Wijnaldum starts the move, driving a ball through to Xherdan Shaqiri on the edge of the Red Star area. It isn’t an easy pass for Shaqiri to take - not that he’s bothered. He cushions a lovely ball through to Salah, who uses his right foot to lash a rising shot past Borjan for his second goal in two games.
Mane darts into the area from the left and seems to overrun the ball. But Mane falls over when Stojkovic puts his arm across his chest as he shields the ball out of play. Salah ignores Red Star’s protests and hammers the penalty down the middle for his second of the evening
Red Star make problems for themselves with a poor attempt to play out from the back. That gives Sturridge a chance to release Mane. For a moment it looks like his touch has got away from him but he has the pace to roll the ball past Borjan for his first goal in seven matches.
MY OPINION
Liverpool look to be back on track with a win like this and it does make you think that maybe they can compete against anyone on their day. This was a very good offensive performance but it will be the away match that will prove crucial.
PSG 2-2 NAPOLI
DI MARIA DREAMS

Lorenzo Insigne right footed shot from the centre of the box to the centre of the goal. Assisted by José Callejón with a through ball.
Neymar right footed shot from the centre of the box is saved in the bottom right corner.
Dries Mertens right footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom right corner.
Ángel Di María left footed shot from outside the box to the top left corner. Assisted by Julian Draxler.
MY OPINION
It has been very lucky here that PSG got a point in this game and it must make them go and take a look at what seems to be going wrong at the moment. The Italians seems to be able tom push forward when they might want. Italians do look like they could be getting a lot more results in this group.
GROUP D
GALATASARAY 0-0 SHALKE
DEFENSIVE MATCH KEEPS IT INTERESTING

Having turned down Yevhen Konoplyanka's claims for a spot-kick following a foul by Fernando Muslera early on, referee Benoit Bastien then ruled Breel Embolo had gone down too easily under pressure from Galatasaray's goalkeeper four minutes into the second half.
Muslera had shown his quality with a fine double save from Embolo moments earlier, although his rollercoaster performance looked to have been capped off by a 58th-minute own goal.
But the offside flag came to Galatasaray's rescue to further compound Schalke's frustration as Domenico Tedesco's side had to settle for a point.

MY OPINION
This was a game defined by a bit of luck for both sides and in a match like this sometimes there is very little that can be said so I won’t.
LOCOMOTIV MOSCOW 1-3 PORTO
HAPPY HERRARA

Fernandes before Moussa Marega's successful spot-kick at the other end handed Sergio Conceicao's side the lead.
Hector Herrera doubled their advantage with a powerful header, but Lokomotiv's first goal of the campaign through Anton Miranchuk seven minutes before the interval offered them hope of reining in the Portuguese champions.
Jesus Manuel Corona put the result beyond doubt after 47 minutes
MY OPINION
Porto are still controlling this group and this win shows that they are doing very well at the moment but I am not that sure how this result to me means that the best case scenario for Locamotive is finishing in the Europa League
