21-2-18 CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE LAST 16

CHELSEA 1-1 BARCELONA

MESSI MAKES MAGIC

The Blues had subdued Messi, and Willian had struck the woodwork twice in the first half before a fine low finish from the edge of the area made it third time lucky for the Brazilian and gave Antonio Conte's side a deserved lead after 62 minutes.
Barcelona had barely threatened but a misplaced pass from Andreas Christensen gave Andres Iniesta the opportunity to allow Messi to end his 730-minute drought against Chelsea with a crisp left-foot drive 15 minutes from time.

MY OPINION

That Messi goal and what he can do with a ball changed the whole dynamic of this game and it means that Chelsea must score as Barsa will come at them we can be sure about that. The second leg could be a good match but will depend on who scores first.

BAYERN 5-0 BESIKTAS

MULLER AND LEWANDOWSKI PUT TIE TO BED

The hosts won their 14th consecutive game after a dominant second half against Besiktas, who had Domagoj Vida sent off after 16 minutes.
Thomas Muller converted from close range in both halves, and Kingsley Coman also swept home.
Top-scorer Robert Lewandowski added two more for Bayern as Besiktas tired.
MY OPINION

This game was dependant on the red card as up until that point the game was even and both teams could have won it. After the sending off Bayer took control of the game and were able to do it with ease and now look a serious threat for the Champions League itself.
