CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP F 1-11-17
GROUP F
NAPOLI 2-4 MAN CITY
AGUERO BREAKS RECORD
TO KEEP CITY CONTROL
The hosts were on top for the first 30 minutes and
deservedly led when Lorenzo Insigne played an excellent one-two with Dries
Mertens and steered the ball past Ederson.
City started to see more of the ball after Napoli's
blistering start and were level when Nicolas Otamendi headed in a cross from
Ilkay Gundoga.
They led when John Stones headed in off the underside of the
crossbar for his third Champions League goal this season - matching Lionel
Messi's haul.
Napoli - now in danger of dropping out of the Champions
League - stepped up the intensity again and Insigne hit the crossbar from 20
yards.
As the game ebbed and flowed, they equalised when Leroy Sane
fouled Raul Albiol and Jorginho sent Ederson the wrong way from the penalty.
But there were more big moments to come - the ball broke to
Aguero, who guided the ball home from the edge of the box.
MY
OPINION
What a time to break Eric Brooks’s
record as this should be enough to put them on top of the group. City are
developing season on season and this year they might be ready but this depends
on what they will be playing for at the end of the season. As for Napoli they
must have seen this a chance for a point
SHAKHTAR DONESK 3-1 FEYENOORD
MEGA MARLOS
Nicolai Jorgensen opened the scoring when he headed in
Steven Berghuis's cross in the 12th minute, but Shakhtar equalised inside two
minutes when Facundo Ferreyra saw his first shot blocked by Renato Tapia, but
scored on the rebound.
Marlos gave Shakhtar the lead in the 17th and made it 3-1
with his second goal midway through the second half, cleverly dragging the ball
past Tapia before chipping it over Brad Jones in the Feyenoord goal.
MY
OPINION
Schacktar are now in control of
their own fate and should qualify for the last 16 which will be a brilliant
think or football in Ukraine as they are showing why they are one of the teams
you might be nervous about. Feyenoord just would want to get a point.
