WOMENS RUGBY WORLD
CUP 2017
FRANCE 21-5 IRELAND
MENAGER EARLY TRY
ALLOWS FRENCH TO CONTROL THINGS
An early Romane Menager try was followed by two more
Caroline Ladagnous touchdowns as the French ran Ireland ragged to lead 21-0 at
the interval.
Ireland produced intense second-half pressure but could only
manage an injury-time Cliodhna Moloney try.
MY
OPINION
For Ireland this Game was lost
in the second half but we do know that if the French can do this type of damage
against the Irish they have a real chance at the title. The Irish had a chance
to score a try just before half time and they did not take it.
ENGLAND 47-26 USA
SUPERB SCARRATT
Emily Scarratt scored the first try and a penalty try and
further scores from Marlie Packer, with a brace, and Katy Mclean saw them lead
33-7 at half-time.
Amy Wilson-Hardy and Amy Cockayne added further tries for
England, with Kate Zackary, Cheta Emba and Naya Tapper replying for the USA.
And Kris Thomas scored their fourth try to secure a bonus
point.
MY
OPINION
England look very impressive at
the moment with this easy win and have to be seen as the favorite for the
title. The USA have shown that they can compete but it will not be easy for
them in the semi final no matter who they play.
NZ 48-5 CANADA
ITUNA SHOWS HOW EASY
IT CAN BE
The Black Ferns, four-time World Cup winners, recorded a
third successive bonus-point victory, scoring eight tries to inflict a first
defeat of the tournament on their opponents.
Prop Aldora Itunu led the way with a hat-trick, while there
were also tries for Selica Winiata, Stacey Waaka, Kelly Brazier, Fiao'o
Fa'amausili and Renee Wickliffe, with Brazier adding one conversion and
scrum-half Kendra Cocksedge booting three.
MY
OPINION
New Zeland are Rugby as much as
a nation can be a sport and I don’t think there will be too may teams that New
Zealand will fear. I think they are getting better match on match but I am disappointed
by Canada and how much they lost by
