31-7-17 challenge cup semis
CHALENGE CUP SEMI
FINAL
WIGAN 27-14 SALFORD
GILDART DOUBLE PUTS
WARRIORS IN FINAL
Warriors raced into a 12-0 lead with scores from Oliver
Gildart and Willie Isa, and two George Williams goals.
Salford hit back to lead at half-time through Michael
Dobson's penalty after Greg Johnson and Tyrone McCarthy tries.
Williams' penalty levelled the semi-final before Michael
McIlorum's score, Sam Tomkins' drop-goal and Gildart's late second try sent
Wigan to Wembley.
MY
OPINION
Wigan are one of the biggest
teams in the world and should be playing for a trophy every season. They
without a doubt are having a bad season at the moment but winning the Challenge
Cup would make up for that. For Salford though getting as far as they did must
have been a surprise doing so well this season and they must now try to make
sure of a top 4 finish.
HULL FC 43-24 LEEDS
TERRIFIC TUIMAVAVE
Callum Green's try put Hull 18-12 ahead at the break after them
twice levelled, with Carlos Tuimavave and Albert Kelly responding to Ryan
Hall's brace.
Tuimavave's second sparked a try blitz, with further scores
coming from Liam Watts, Jamie Shaul and Scott Taylor.
A drop goal by man of the match Marc Sneyd, taking the score
to 25-12 after 55 minutes
MY
OPINION
Leeds are doing very well in the
league at the moment so it should not matter that they are out of the Challenge
Cup as for Hull they can use this
momentum to take them forward and maybe they can actually win the Super League
itself. Momentum is important.
