28-6-17 football resuts teams and predictions
EURO U21 SEMI FINALS
GERMANY 2-2 ENGLAND
GERMANY WIN 4-3 ON PENALTIES
POT LUCK HURTS
ENGLAND
Aidy Boothroyd's Young Lions had fallen behind when Davie
Selke headed home, but Demarai Gray levelled the scores.
Tammy Abraham made it 2-1 to England with a tap-in but Felix
Platte's header took the game to extra time.
Julian Pollersbeck saved Nathan Redmond's spot-kick as the
Germans edged through in Tychy, Poland.
MY
OPINION
There are a few players here who
will make their mark at senior level both for England and for Germany but losing
a penalty shootout for a few players at senior level that will help them as
England will lose more penalty shootouts at senior level.
SPAIN 3-1 ITALY
NIGUEZ HAT TRICK
SUPER SPAIN
Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez scored a hat-trick as
Spain beat Italy to set up a European Under-21 Championship final with Germany.
The 22-year-old put Spain ahead with a finish from just
inside the box, but Italy equalised through Federico Bernardeschi's deflected
shot despite having Roberto Gagliardini sent off.
Saul restored Spain's lead with a fantastic 30-yard drive
three minutes later, and completed his treble by turning in first time from
Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio's low cross.
MY
OPINION
When you see a kid like this at
this age sometimes it means automatic success but it normally is not like that
and you do wonder whether Atletico will get the deal for Niguez to make him
want to go. Italy were expected to defend a lot better than they did as they
have had some of some of the best defenders and drills in the world for
defending but this might just be seen as just a bad match. I think if the
Italian players want to they can develop as players and get into their
respective clubs.
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
FIRST ROUND QUALIFIER
TNS(wales) 1-2 EUROPA (Gibraltar)
GOMEZ PUTS TNS IN
REAL TROUBLE
Alex Quillo gave the Gibraltese side an early lead from Kike
Gómez's cross.
Scott Quigley equalised a minute before the break, taking a through
ball and turning his defender before lashing a brilliant shot over Javi Munoz.
But Europa snatched a vital lead when Gómez curled home a
beauty after Liam Walker broke down the right.
MY OPINION
I think that for certain clubs
the season starts here and the Welsh side are in some real trouble. I think
that if they are able to play themselves out of this first round qualifier they
have no hope in the second round.
CONFEDERATIONS CUP
SEMIS
PORTUGAL V CHILE
Portugal: Patricio; Soares, Pepe, Alves, Eliseu; Quaresma,
Moutinho, Carvalho, B. Silva; A. Silva, Ronaldo.
Chile: Bravo; Isla,
Medel, Jara, Mena; Vidal, Silva, Aranguiz; Fuenzalida, Vargas, Sanchez.
MY
OPINION
I This is going to be an
attacking open game of football but I think that Christano Ronaldo v Sanchez
could be a huge factor but and Carvelho will make the difference for Portugal
as they score an early goal and win the match.
I say Portugal 3-1
LINFIELD(NI) V LA
FOIRITA (can Marino)
MY
OPINION
I do know that this is a tie
that Linfield should win or at least try to outplay as they have shown in
Northern Ireland that they are a good side. I think that the unknown does give
La Forina an advantage as there are ways the San Marnio side can watch
Linfield
I say Linfield 3-0
